Well, day one of the 2020 Democratic National Convention is in the books and we certainly got a good talkin’ to from one of my favorite women in the entire world. The look of disappointment, sadness, and feeling of urgency radiated through the screen like a laser beam! Hopefully feelings of empathy and necessity to do the right thing was shot straight into the hearts of those who are wavering on their decisions or contemplating withholding their votes.
My forever FLOTUS, Michelle Obama, gave it to us straight up with no chaser last night. She let us have it just like your momma would when you did something that was bad…but not bad enough to punish you, just bad enough to give you a nice long speech to make YOU feel her pain and disappointment for whatever stupid thing you said or did. Which in turn made YOU feel bad. LOL
Adorned with her gold hoop earrings and VOTE necklace, I watched Mrs. Obama in awe of her bravery and strength as she dropped gems of truth and continued her trek up the “we go high” mountaintop. I mean she so beautifully touched on all the things that old Donnie has messed up in our country, the Karens of the world, how this administration is letting our kids down, and why in the hell people refuse to wear their masks. Really stamping it into the concrete that “Donald Trump is the wrong president for our country…” slamming him in the most eloquent way possible. When she dropped that “It is what is is!” phrase I was a little shocked but in the most magical way, it was her professional way of saying “Periodt Pooh!” LOL She most definitely mastered the best way to say he’s f’in it up here and y’all know it, so don’t be stupid and vote wrong again! But that “It is what it is!” statement should’ve perked you up a bit and made you lean in closer to hear what else she had to say about old Donnie.
Now y’all know she wasn’t going to go an entire speech without showin’ some love for her husband. Her love for President Obama is unmatched and so beautiful to see. (#blacklove) I love the way she stands behind her husband and reminds the world every chance she gets of the great work he did for our country. The care and empathy they both kept in their front pockets as they traveled the country and listened to families concerns, not matter the ethnicity or class. Not only that, but she also keeps it real and reminds us that being President ain’t easy and her friend Joe understands that and knows firsthand how important it is to put the people first while still managing and maintaining the politics. It’s clear to see how much she believes in Joe Biden and made sure to let us know that he has some big plans and ideas to get us out of this hell on earth old Donnie has us living in.
There is so much more that I can say about Mrs. Obama’s message from last night, but you’d be reading an entire dissertation and we don’t have time for that. Overall her message was real, raw, and honest. It was just what we all needed to hear to kick us into gear and get out there to VOTE for what we all know is going to be best for our country right now.
